If it is hard for you to turn a door knob, keep the door from latching with this easy rubber band trick. Attach one or more rubber bands to the doorknob on one side of the door. Then, criss-cross it at the latch bolt, and attach it to the knob on the other side of the door. This keeps the latch from sliding into the catch on the door jam. No more having to turn the knob to open the door!
