If it is hard for you to manage small buttons, create and use a button hook. Firmly tape a paper clip to the end of a pencil. Attach duct tape or electric tape to the pencil to make a built-up handle. Hold the handle, then slide the paper clip through the button hole and over the button. When you slide the hook back out, the button will slide through the buttonhole.
